MOLD IS IT IN YOUR
BUILDING?
RT has ramped up its services related to
mold assessment and remediation. A significant number of
buildings are being found to have problems, as
follows:
-
water damaged
building materials acting as a culture for mold
growth.
-
past flooding causing damage to carpets, and
promoting subsequent mold growth
-
sewage backups,
not properly remediated leading to illnesses and/or deaths
of pets or building occupants
-
buildups of mold
in air ducts, caused by HVAC system malfunctions or lack of
proper maintenance.
Some individuals are more
susceptible than others to mold growing in occupied office,
residential, or industrial spaces. The NYS Department of
Health has issued Guidelines for mold assessment and
remediation, which RT is already implementing.
