RADON - AS BAD AS THEY
SAY?
The risks of dying from lung cancer caused by
naturally occurring radon gas in the home may be much less than previously
suspected, says a report in the journal New Scientist. The study, by the
Columbia University Center for Radiation Research, questions the extrapolations
researchers have made from deaths among uranium miners.
(Philadelphia Inquirer, 1/15/99)

primarily due to the underlying geology but has only become a potential problem
in poorly ventilated structures and rooms below grade.
